WINTHROP -- Mandaville Camp and Retreat Center, 165 Sheldon Rd., invites youth and families take part in their outdoor education discovery programs featuring local guest instructors in March, April and May.
• Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m. to noon, “From Creation to the Trapper Shed,” a look at fur trapping with local resident trapper, Scott Jandreau from North Lawrence.
• Saturday, April 28, 9 a.m. to noon, “Amphibians Alive,” a vernal pool discovery with Joel Danko, naturalist from Nicandri Nature Center, Massena.
* Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m. to noon, “Spring Awakening in the Forest,” a nature discovery walk identifying spring wildflowers and edible plants, trees, and migratory birds, with local forester Henry Keller.
Participants will meet at Hemlock Lodge at 9 a.m. Dress appropriately for the woods and weather. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
