POTSDAM -- A boater safety class sponsored by the state Department of Parks and Recreation Marine Unit has been set for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24 in the Civic Center Community Room above the Potsdam Police Department.
The course will be taught by volunteers Jim and Sue Corbett. Its is free.
Anyone wishing to operate a personal watercraft such as a Jet Ski or a Sea-Doo in New York must complete this course. Those under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult to run a PWC. Children 10 to 18 years old must complete this course and pass the test to operate a motorized boat by themselves in New York.
