HAMMOND - The Ogdensburg Flotilla of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is hosting “About Boating Safely” courses from 5 to 9 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Center, Morristown July 17-18, Chippewa Bay Fish and Game Club July 31-Aug. 1, and Hammond Central School Aug. 14-15.

This course is required in New York State for everyone 14 years old or older operating a personal watercraft such as a Jet Ski, and motor boat operators born on or after May 1, 1996, and at least 10 years of age.

Participants must attend both nights. The “About Boating Safely” certificate and laminated card are awarded at the end of the second night, are valid in New York State and all 50 states, and easily replaced if lost or damaged.
