MORRISTOWN – Downtown Morristown will be the site for a block party Saturday, July 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Radio Bob Sauter leads a seven piece group. The band members love rhythm and blues from the 50s, 60s and 70s and play it with zest.
A typical playlist includes Chuck Berry’s Nadine, Mick Jagger’s Honky Tonk Women, 96 Tears, Leiber and Stoller’s Young Blood, and Bruce Springsteen’s Fire.
Members of the band travel from as far as Burlington to be in on the concert and block party.
Sauter’s fulltime job is at North Country Public Radio where he hosts an R & B program every Wednesday afternoon.
He emcees appearances by the band in the same joking manner he uses on his radio show.
Radio Bob’s Band will play in front of the Gateway Museum on Main Street if the weather is good.
Otherwise, the band will play in the second floor hall of the museum.
Food will be available. There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted.
