POTSDAM -- Barb Heller’s guitar class series is being offered again at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
The series includes three classes totaling six one-hour lessons Thursdays starting Jan. 6 in the SLC Arts Council's gift shop/gallery at 51 Market St.
New guitar players can start at the beginning and experienced players may start with one of the later classes. The classes:
• How to Use that New (or Old) Guitar, Jan. 6 and 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. The basics, so you can begin enjoying your guitar in two lessons. The goal is to help students become independent learners. $25.
• Learn 20 Cords in Two Hours, Jan. 20 and 27 6 to 7 p.m. Designed for beginners who just finished “How to Use that New Guitar,” or who have been learning on their own, or those whose skills have grown rusty. $25.
• Learn Guitar Finger Picking in 2 Lessons, Feb. 3 and 10, 6 to 7 p.m. Basic 4-finger picking in a way that will be memorable and easy to understand. It is suitable for players of any skill level $25.
Students enrolling in all three classes get a $10 discount. Contact the SLC Arts Council to register and pre-pay at 265-6860 or www.slcartscouncil.org. They advise that this popular series fills quickly.
