PARISHVILLE – A 5K run-walk June 4 will raise money for wounded Marine Aaron Howell and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Cpl. Howell of Parishville was severely wounded in Afghanistan and has been recovering in the Washington, D.C. area.
Organizers of the June 4 event said that the Wounded Warrior Project has been very supportive of Howell’s recovery.
The walk begins at 11 a.m. at the Parishville Town Beach, and registration starts at 10 a.m.
Coordinator Lisa Clothier said there will be other attractions at the beach that day, including carnival games.
While they expect to have plenty of T-shirts, and every registrant will get one, shirts in a specific size are guaranteed only to those who register and pay by May 20, because the shirts have to be ordered early due to the Memorial Day weekend. Those who register by May 27 will have a shirt reserved in their size if there are any left.
A minimum donation per shirt of $10 is requested.
To register by mail, registration and donation checks can be made out to Lisa Clothier, Aaron’s Walk Coordinator, and mailed to 301 Pumpkin Hill Road, Potsdam, NY 13676.
Mail entries should also include the walker’s name and names of sponsors and amount pledged, and T-shirt sizes.
