Christmas in Waddington to bring more than 60 pop-up merchants to town

WADDINGTON – More than 60 pop-up merchants will come to town as a holiday pop-up market Dec. 1 to 23.

Christmas in Waddington will feature over 60 pop-up merchants offering a selection of gifts, original art, fashion, beauty, décor, edible gifts and holiday baubles. Waddington property owners along with The Gallery at Lake St. Lawrence, and Clark House Preservation, Inc. have offered their spaces to be turned into holiday shops.

A call for vendors has been made and any interested artisans and merchants can reserve their ‘pop-up space’ by going to www.ChristmasInWaddington.com

The event will also feature dining options.

There will be ‘pop-up dining’ offered in the Community Room of the Waddington Library where regional chefs will feature themed dinners and other menu offerings.

Food trucks will be parked on Main Street. Culinary offerings will be listed on the ChristmasInWaddington.com website.

Interested chefs can contact Nicole@theeventscompany.com and pitch their ideas.

A series of events, concerts and DIY holiday gift making activities are also being planned.

On Dec. 2 a preview party with food, beverage samplings, and live music can be attended for $20 per ticket, with proceeds going to support the Clark House Preservation project.

Special events will also be held throughout the month, including breakfast with Santa on Dec. 10 and 17. Other events include the Dec. 8 Sip and Shop Ladies Night and Dec. 15 Brews and Blues Guys Night.

The schedule of activities and events can be found at the website and be sure to check back frequently as new events are being continually added.

“Cultural Tourism is an economic driver and Christmas in Waddington is another step in our revitalization efforts,” said Jim Thew, secretary of Clark House Preservation. “Waddington’s scenic backdrop on the St. Lawrence River, its boulevard style Main Street and historic downtown is the perfect setting for an Arts and Events Community and we see the Clark House, restored to its original grandeur, as the anchor of Main Street’s commercial hub and revitalization of Waddington as an arts community.”

The Clark House was constructed in the 1800’s when Waddington was an industrial hub in St. Lawrence County.
