POTSDAM – The A&W mini-franchise in the Parkway Express convenience store on Rt. 11B has closed.
Greg Wood, who runs the store with his brother Scheil, says they will not look for another franchise to fill the space.
Wood says they will simply continue with the Quiznos Subs franchise, the Valero gasoline, and convenience store, using the space left by the A&W closure to expand the other units.
The A&W franchise was the last piece to fall into place for the Parkway Express store in May 2008, after opening the previous January.
There are five other Parkway convenience stores in St. Lawrence County, two in Ogdensburg, one in Morristown, one in Lisbon and one in Raymondville.
The Wood family also owns the Parkway Group of automobile dealerships.
