POTSDAM -- 1844 House, An American Bistro has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for the fourth consecutive year.

The achievement “celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world,” restaurant officials said.

Located at 6885 U.S. Highway 11, 1844 House is a chef-owned-and-operated restaurant, according to their website.

“We are very excited to receive this award for the fourth straight year; especially since this is our tenth anniversary year,” said Brian Walker, executive chef and proprietor. “We will continue to serve our local residents and visitors to our area high quality “farm to table” cuisine in our historic farm house with friendly and professional service for many years to come,”

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

TripAdvisor claims to be the world’s largest travel site, featuring advice from real travelers, and a wide variety of travel choices and planning features with links to booking tools.
