POTSDAM – With the Time Warner Cable office in Potsdam to close on Friday, the company is pointing to alternative places to pay bills and make equipment transactions.
Any Kinney Drugs stores will take payments, and they can be made at the IGA at 27 Elm St. in Potsdam and at Community Bank at 80 Main St. in Canton. These places will only take Time-Warner Cable payments, and will not take service orders or hand out modems, converters or other equipment.
Customers who had used the 22½ Elm St. location may visit the company’s Massena office at 277 Andrews St. for payments and equipment pickup and return.
When the company decided to close the Potsdam office, Time-Warner spokeswoman Stephanie Salinger said management had met with two affected employees and offered them the chance to apply for positions elsewhere in the company. At least one of them will be a “floater,” working at nearby offices as needed.
Salinger said the company decided to close the office after an analysis showed that it was being used primarily as a payment location, as opposed to a sales office, and that other payment options were available.
