POTSDAM -- The Mountain Mart convenience store, located at 119 Maple St., which includes Kentucky Fried Chicken and Dunkin’ Donuts, is now open.
Customers for the last two weeks have only been able to use KFC drive-through. They can now go inside to order and eat. There is seating for about 40 people.
Customers can now purchase gas, shop the convenience store or perk up with some coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts.
Bruce Monette Jr., operator of Mountain Mart convenience stores around the North Country, predicted in June that the store and its franchises would be open before the end of the year. That was his agreement with KFC.
An official grand opening is planned for later this year.
There are other Mountain Mart stores in Canton and Massena in St. Lawrence County and more in Franklin and Clinton counties. In addition, the Monette family owns and run Titus Mountain ski area.
