CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging has a limited number of farmers’ market coupon booklets left for eligible seniors who have not already received them.
The coupons, worth $20, are redeemable at local farmers’ markets for fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables.
The coupon booklets are free for seniors 60 years and older who have not received them already this year; who are currently receiving or eligible for SSI, public assistance, section 8 Housing subsidies or whose income is less than $1,815 if single or less than $2,456 if married. Only one coupon booklet will be issued per senior household. All qualified seniors must sign for the booklet in person at the office. Coupon booklets cannot be mailed, nor signed for by a proxy.
The booklets are now available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Office for the Aging at 80 State Highway 310, Suite 7 in Canton.
