CANTON -- State representatives and local dignitaries will be on hand for speeches for the grand opening of the St. Lawrence Wine Trail from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at the TAUNY Center, 53 Main St.
Guest speakers Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, and Assemblywoman Addie Russell, D-Theresa, will mark the occasion.
The trail stretches more than 80 miles, alongside Black Lake, through Morristown, Ogdensburg, Canton, Potsdam, Stockholm and Brasher Falls, and links three existing wineries in Hammond, Lisbon and Winthrop, as well as the county’s new craft brewery.
Ritchie and Russell supported the Wine Trail with legislation in the state Senate and Assembly.
There will also be an unveiling of the new St. Lawrence Wine Trail website.
