MASSENA -- The St. Lawrence Centre mall is losing a tenant and part of another store.
Koi Express will close its shop in the food court at the end of the month. Meanwhile, JC Penney has closed its hair salon.
The JC Penney salon has been closed since Feb. 28. Store manager Sheri Ruela said there are no plans to close the store. She would not divulge how many jobs the closure affected.
“I don’t think it’s something I need to tell you. I’ve never spoken to you before,” she told a reporter. “I don’t think it’s something I need to tell the public.”
Koi Express, which operates its main location in Hogansburg, said in a March 4 Facebook post they are pulling out of the St. Lawrence Centre on March 31. They cite a staff reduction due to “the amount of business and reduced mall hours.”
The Facebook post says the Hogansburg restaurant will remain open, offering delivery to Massena.
