WADDINGTON -- River Run Fitness will close for good May 26.
“We have been open for six years, but with the declining membership, will close,” owner Pamela D. Dalton said.
The fitness center was located 17 Bowling Court, where the old bowling alley used to be.
“I would like to thank all of my dedicated members who have become like family to me,” she said. “River Run Fitness was not only a place for physical fitness, but also mental fitness.”
In 2011, the St. Lawrence County Local Development Corporation provided a $19,953 grant and $8,000 loan for renovations, equipment and working capital to help the business get up and running.
River Run Fitness was a full service gym with treadmills, elliptical machines and recumbent bikes, free weights and weight bearing machines, and offered fitness classes.
“My members have met lifelong friends and I hope that their fitness journey will continue,” she said.
