MASSENA -- A new company, Retlaw Personal Defense, offers yearly firearms qualifications for active and retired law enforcement officers.
Jean-Pierre R. Plante, retired after 33 years as a local, state and federal law enforcement officer and a certified NRA instructor, also offers basic handgun training to anyone wanting to learn how to safely and properly handle handguns and understand personal safety in the home.
Most retired law enforcement officers are exempt from local and state prohibitions on carrying firearms throughout the country, provided they have a current annual firearms qualification. Retlaw is certified to provide that proof.
