Rep. Owens seeks input on regulation reform from North Country small business owners

Rep. Bill Owens wants to hear from small business owners about their ideas for regulation reform.

"If your small business is currently experiencing problems with what you consider burdensome regulations, I want to hear about it," the survey on the 23rd Congressional District representative's web site says.

The survey asks several questions, such as how many people are employed there, and about regulations they consider onerous, how much the regulations are costing in time and money, and any ideas they have about getting them changed.

"Job creation is my top priority in Congress, and reducing regulation and streamlining government is one of the best ways to help small business leaders in Upstate New York hire and expand," the heading to the survey says.

Owens is reinforcing his appeal with a letter to President Barack Obama, citing a recent interview with the president in the Wall Street Journal where Obama expressed a desire to get agencies to modify or remove unnecessary or overly burdensome rules.
