Price Chopper, which operates stores in Potsdam, Canton, Massena, Ogdensburg and Gouverneur, will soon be re-branded as Market 32 as part of a $300 million campaign.
The Golub Corporation, which owns the chain, says it will convert half of the 135 Price Chopper stores nationwide within five years. The rest will be converted in the second half of the next decade, according to Price Chopper spokesman John Pierce.
He said there are no plans to add or make cuts to current staff levels in conjunction with the re-branding.
The new stores will have a bigger product selection, according to a statement from the corporation.
The corporation says three stores in Clifton Park and Wilton, N.Y. and Pittsfield, Mass. are being coverted to the new brand. Another 10 to 15 will be renamed in the next 18 months.
They say their Advantedge program and other coupon and savings offers will remain.
