Price Chopper alerting customers to recall of organic ground beef

Posted

Price Chopper supermarkets are alerting customers to a recall of Nature's Harvest organic ground beef due to possible E. coli contamination.

Although no one has reportedly been sickened by the beef, Price Chopper says, they are joining the national voluntary recall of the First Class Foods Nature's Harvest beef with sell-by dates of Dec. 30 and Jan. 8. Customers are being urged to return it to the store for a full refund.

In addition to alerting the media, Price Chopper has initiated its Smart Reply notification program, which uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company’s AdvantEdge (loyalty) card to alert those households that may have purchased the products in question.

Customer inquiries should be directed to Lucienne Adams of First Class Foods, the parent company of Nature’s Harvest, at (310) 676-2500.
