POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce honored the Potsdam Elks Lodge with its Commitment to Community Award at its annual dinner Thursday, Nov. 15.
Pat Brady, District Superintendent of Potsdam Central Schools, presented the award, saying, “With their long established reputation for providing valuable community service to the Potsdam Community, specifically our youth and veterans, there are few more deserving to be recognized for this award.”
On behalf of the Elks 800 members, the award was accepted by Exulted Ruler Wayne Boak and Tim Welpe.
The Chamber also presented the 2012 Pride in Potsdam Award to Willow Tree Florist. Willow Tree has twice been a nominee for the award, this year and in 2010. Jennifer Blanchard accepted the award.
The other nominees for the award were CPH Cancer Center, Market Lanes, and The Tile Company.
