NORWOOD -- Perry’s Big M is not being acquired by Tops Markets, as several other Big M Supermarkets have been.
Sue Perry said her store at 58 Spring Street is not affected by the Tops Friendly Markets purchase of Big M stores in Watertown, Adams, Sandy Creek and Boonville.
Nor would the purchase affect deliveries to the Norwood market, Perry said.
The only real effect she feels, she said, is a lessening of her perception of independence in the retail grocery market.
Tops announced last year that it was acquiring several Big M-affiliated stores in central and northern New York.
The Watertown Daily Times reported the sales of the North Country stores, citing unnamed sources.
