OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has completed the first year of its of Success Sharing Program, a wage incentive plan established in early 2010.
Sharing in the financial success of the organization, employees were eligible to receive a bonus of half a percent of their hourly wages above and beyond the annual wage increase.
Three goals were established, focusing on employee safety, patient satisfaction and financial health. Based on achievement of one or more of the goals, eligible employees would receive a bonus. Two of the three goals were met and the hospital issued special checks last week to 449 employees totaling $49,000.
Claxton-Hepburn will continue the program in 2011 with three new goals.
“We hope by giving employees a more tangible stake in the success of the hospital, we will build awareness in our employees that they impact the success of this organization and that we appreciate their contributions,” said Lou-Ann McNally, CHMC Director of Human Resources.
While the pay outs in this first year of the program were modest, Claxton-Hepburn says it hopes to increase the potential bonus in coming years.
