OGDENSBURG -- Assemblywoman Addie Russell recently recognized the 20th anniversary of the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center.
The anniversary was celebrated with an open house, during which a new multifunctional Varian Trilogy Linear Accelerator was unveiled.
The device allows doctors to treat certain brain and lung cancers, for which there was no treatment available in the North Country, according to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. The hospital says this allows North Country patients to be treated closer to home.
