OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner, Friday Nov. 14 at the Gran View Restaurant and honored Phillips Diner with the 2014 Business Improvement Award.
The dinner drew a crowd of 230 people, one of the largest turnouts in recent years, according to board member Sean McNamara.
The event featured food, auctions, raffles and awards.
Don and Judi Ashley of Phillips Diner received the 2014 Business Improvement Award. Phillips Diner has been family-owned and operated in Ogdensburg since 1948.
In recent years, they completely restored the exterior and the roof, and added a new front entrance, new front sign, windows and doors.
The chamber named Thomas Luckie Sr. its 2014 Citizen of the Year.
And Kimro’s Medicine Place and the family of Kim and Rose Demers were honored with the 2014 Outstanding Community Service Award.
