POTSDAM -- The North Country Children's Museum is getting a permanent location at 10 Raymond St.

They will be in the big red barn portion of the building that housed Sperling’s Furniture many years ago and faces the municipal parking lot. Also located in the building along Raymond Street are Best Friends Thrift Shop and The Tile Company, which will remain.

The museum recently finalized purchasing the building.

They will renovate it, adding office and program room space, according to a press release from the museum.

Alchemy Studio in Connecticut is making the exhibits.

Museum officials say they plan to open in Janurary or February of 2018.

The museum now is what their website calls “a museum without walls.” They bring traveling exhibits around the area, including to community events. Their hands-on displays educate kids on science, technology, engineering, arts and math, the website says, which is at http://northcountrychildrensmuseum.org.
