New website aims to help St. Lawrence County residents, businesses lower energy bills

A new website is being billed as a resource to help St. Lawrence County residents and businesses lower energy use and utility bills.

The website, www.RenewSLC.org, provides connections to rebates and incentives, educational resources, tips to manage energy consumption, and assists in finding local contractors.

RenewSLC, a project of the St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency, also highlights county projects and provides links to county news and events related to energy conservation.

“The IDA recognizes the importance of energy efficiency to the employers and residents of St. Lawrence County,” said IDA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Patrick Kelly. “This site has been designed to provide a single point of reference for those interested in energy assistance programs, the adoption of renewable energy technologies, and as a clearinghouse between energy service providers and potential customers. We want to make it easy for our businesses and citizens to access energy efficiency programs and services.”

The site was developed by the IDA and Blue Springs Energy, a company that assists organizations, local governments and individuals to access energy grants, incentives and credits and find local green services and products.

A monthly newsletter will be available to residents who wish to provide their email addresses on the RenewSLC.org website. The newsletter will provide information relating to clean energy grants and incentives, as well as ongoing projects and tips on how to become more energy efficient.
