CANTON -- A new podiatrist has joined the Canton-Potsdam Hospital medical staff and will begin seeing patients July 28.

Dr. David M. Pinegar will practice in Canton at the EJ Noble Medical Campus, 80 East Main St. He will share practice space with Jeffrey Haasbeek, MD, orthopedic surgeon and hand specialist, on the lower level of the building, where space is currently under renovation pending Department of Health approval.

Until the space is approved, Dr. Pinegar will see patients in the Afterhours Clinic in the same building.

“I’m excited to be joining Canton-Potsdam Hospital and offering the area additional services and education in the field of podiatric care,” said Dr. Pinegar,.

His practice includes treatment of painful deformities, such as bunions, hammertoes and flat feet. He is also trained in the treatment of acute and chronic injuries. He has spent time working with the diabetic population with wound care and limb salvage. Dr. Pinegar is also trained in surgical techniques and wound care. He works closely with other surgeons, clinicians, and other physical therapists to diagnose and treat various podiatric conditions.

“I often begin care conservatively, when indicated, using non-surgical methods of treatment that might include physical therapy or other modalities. I’m also trained in the latest podiatric surgical techniques,” he said.”

Dr. Pinegar says that his training in wound healing assists patients to “get back on their feet faster, quite literally.”

He received his medical degree from the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his podiatric surgical residency at St. Luke’s University Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Dr Pinegar is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Currently residing in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Dr. Pinegar will be joined by his wife and four children who enjoy sharing the arts, sports, and music together.
