POTSDAM -- After three years of preparation, Horsefeather Haunts, 80 State Highway 345, a professional haunt venue, is selling tickets for its grand opening in October offering haunts, live entertainment, games, vendors and more.
“The haunted venue will put Potsdam on the map encouraging entertainment tourism as well as providing over a hundred actors, performers, artists and many others,” according to owner Tracy Adle.
A grand opening is slated for Saturday, Oct. 3, at noon.
They will be open Oct. 2 through 24 on Fridays from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday "Hallow Days" for kids will run from noon until 4 p.m. A scarier experience on Saturdays takes place from 5 to 11 p.m.
“It’s a perfect place for memories to be made and Halloween traditions to begin right here in Northern New York,” she said.
Customers can take a wagon ride through Dr. Briar Quartermain’s Dreamcatcher Exhibition, walk The Shortcut, a self-guided footpath through the woods, visit Boris Bighair’s Steamtraveler Side Show, watch random entertainment on the live stage, enjoy live DJ music, splatter monsters in The Watch downrange paintball, race RC pumpkins in The Steampumpkin Gauntlet, and peruse Steampunk vendors.
“Horsefeather Haunts is a haunting experience like no other in New York and your grand Steampunk adventures in horror, fantasy and fascination await," Tanya Gadbaw-Neitzje, an artist for the haunted venue said.
"Horsefeathers Haunts is going to be the new Halloween tradition in Northern New York," Adle said.
Tickets may be purchased in advance online at www.horsefeathershaunts.com or at the gate up to one hour before closing.
