SOUTH COLTON – Mike’s South of the Rock Inn has opened in South Colton.
The inn, in the old South Colton Hotel next to the post office on State Rt. 56, is owned by Linda Pratt, a Century 21 real estate agent, and her husband Michael Pratt, a pharmacist with Rite-Aid.
“It’s a dream my husband’s had, to own our own business,” said Linda Pratt.
The bar and restaurant will be open from 2 to 10 p.m. every day except Tuesday, with dinner being served from 4 to 9 p.m. and bar food at other times.
Their work on the menu has resulted in dishes such as chicken marsala, at three-inch Black Angus New York strip steak, pork chops, risotto ala scampi, pasta and meatballs, chicken roulade, salmon filets, burgers, wings, several types of sliders, salads, and for veggie lovers egg plant steak and portabellas, as well as other items to satisfy children.
The decor includes lots of informal photos of spots in Canton, Potsdam, Parishville and elsewhere, and fresh flowers every day.
Reservations will be taken at 262-2178.
