MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital is looking to outsource its renal dialysis services to a Massachusetts firm.
Hospital management is in talks with American Renal Associates, LLC, of Beverly, Mass, as the potential operator of its renal dialysis unit located at 290 Main St.
American Renal recently acquired the dialysis operations of both Plattsburgh and Elizabeth, New York hospitals and is “in the administrative process to acquire an additional North Country hospital dialysis program in the coming months,” according to a press release from the hospital.
American Renal representatives and members of hospital administration talked with the MMH Dialysis Center medical director and “about the benefits and plans of partnering with American Renal in the future,” the release said.
American Renal representatives told staff the key to continued success of the dialysis unit is to retain the quality staff, and that they value their clinical and dialysis expertise.
American Renal came into being about 14 years ago by healthcare executives with experience in what has become the dialysis industry. American Renal operates 155 centers in 23 states and the District of Columbia, with over 10,000 dialysis patients.
According to the news release, American Renal brings the complete range of disciplines and resources necessary for the successful development and operation of high quality dialysis programs including clinical, regulatory, technical, quality assurance, billing and reimbursement, general accounting, human resource, purchasing, marketing, legal counsel and compliance.
“MMH looks forward to continue meaning discussions with American Renal as a key strategic financial initiative for the future,” the hospital release said.
