The 2011 Local Food Guide, the most complete source for finding food raised and produced in St. Lawrence County, is available free from GardenShare.
The guide lists more than 60 outlets where shoppers can buy fresh vegetables, apples, berries, cheese, milk, yogurt, honey, maple products, meat, poultry, and eggs. Included are farmers' markets, farm stands, U-pick farms, orchards, and organic farms, plus stores that showcase local food.
The guide describes a variety of programs that help make local food accessible and affordable to all and notes which farmers' markets accept EBT/SNAP cards.
