Lean manufacturing workshops March 23, 24 for leaders of North Country organizations, busineses

POTSDAM – To introduce organizations to the common sense approach of “Lean,” CITEC is offering full-day “Lean Beyond Manufacturing” workshops in Plattsburgh on Wednesday, March 23, and Watertown on Thursday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These workshops will show how North Country organizations can expand services, decrease costs, and improve performance and quality using the efficiency principles of “Lean.”

The North Country’s health care facilities, schools, governments – all organizations – are under increasing pressure to control or decrease operating costs while increasing the quality of their services. Many have had to offer more services without adding people, or even with fewer people.

Organizations of all sizes and types are finding ways to improve by replicating the successes of the country’s leading manufacturing companies. Though it may seem like a stretch to tie health care or government offices to the manufacturing world, there is correlation when you consider that – in order to survive – leading manufacturers have used Lean principles to meet the demands of customers who want it better, in less time, and for a lower cost.

Advance registration is required and can be done by following the Training link at www.CITEC.org or by calling event coordinator Tricia Wilson at 268-3778, ext. 23 before close of business Friday, March 18.
