MASSENA -- Kaneb Orchards has been awarded Gold & Silver awards in the 2017 Tastings.com World Cider Championships.

This is the second year in a row Kaneb received the Gold Medal for their handcrafted St. Lawrence Cider and Cranberry Crisp Cider, the hard cider products they have been producing for just three years.

The competition judges described Kaneb’s Cranberry Crisp Cider as a bright pink coral color with fresh, fruity aromas of juicy gala apple, wild lemon, and honeycomb with a satiny, crisp, effervescent, fruity sweet light-to-medium body.

The medium-sweet St. Lawrence Cider was described as pale yellow straw color with creamy aromas and flavors of buttered popcorn, golden apple compote, mulling spices, and apricot stilton cheese with a supple, bright, spritzy, fruity light-to-medium body.

Kaneb’s medium-dry Raquette River Cider was awarded a Silver Medal. It is described as a clear light emerald straw color with aromas of apple candies, spearmint, almond extract, and cucumber with a velvety, crisp, spritzy, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body.
