POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce has hired John Morrison as their new executive director.
Morrison began his new role March 19, following the resignation of Marylee Ballou, who served as the chamber’s executive director for more than 10 years.
Morrison has most recently served as the business developer for the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority, and prior to that was the director of Seaway Industries, St. Lawrence NYSARC.
“We are very excited to have John Morrison as the executive director for the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and look forward to introducing him to the membership and the Potsdam community,” said Janice Adderley, president of the chamber. “His enthusiasm and leadership experience will bring a new perspective to the events and services we offer, and enable him to grow and evolve the vibrant membership our chamber has.”
“I understand the importance of building positive, long-term relationships as the cornerstone to successful programs, events and operations. I look forward to working with the Potsdam Chamber’s Board of Directors to develop a common vision for enhancing and improving services for businesses and organizations in the greater Potsdam community,” Morrison said.
The chamber is inviting the public to welcome Morrison at a “meet and greet” event scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, at 4 p.m. at Maxfield’s on Market Street.
