IDA wants to lease or sell former brewery equipment, location in Canton
Friday, July 7, 2017 - 5:31 pm

The St Lawrence County IDA wants to lease or sell equipment or space from the former St. Lawrence Brewery.

The agency wants proposals to start or expand a brewery, or to use the equipment and space for a similar business purpose.

Offers to either operate in the brewery’s current location or to purchase all of the equipment and relocate will be considered.

The brewery occupies about 3,000 square feet of space in the IDA’s Canton Park building and there is an additional 6,000 square feet of space available in the building.

The brewery includes a grain silo, hopper and mill, 15-barrel brewhouse, 30-barrel fermenting/conditioning tanks and other associated equipment necessary to operate a regional brewing facility.

The agency will also entertain proposals from those interested in the lease or purchase of the equipment for operations within St. Lawrence County. Bidders interested in moving the equipment to an out-of-St. Lawrence County location will need to submit a bid to purchase the equipment outright. No leases of the equipment will be available for non-St. Lawrence County locations.

Preference will be given to those plans that show the best potential for increasing employment in St. Lawrence County.

Potential bidders are encouraged to schedule a walk-through of the facility to ensure they fully understand what is available.

They can contact the IDA’s contracting officer, Richard Williams, at [email protected] or 315-379-9806 to schedule an appointment or to request bid proposal documents.

Proposals will be received until 1 p.m. Aug. 1. Proposals may be submitted via email to [email protected] or submitted via mail or courier to: St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency, 19 Commerce Lane, Suite 1, Canton, New York 13617.
