OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of commerce will host their annual dinner on Friday, Nov. 2 at the Gran-View Restaurant, and they are accepting nominations for the 2012 Citizen of the Year.
They ask members to consider the person who most qualifies for the honor and send the written nomination to the chamber with a brief explanation.
The chamber is also accepting nominations for the Business Improvement Award, which goes to a business that has had a profound positive impact on the community and its appearance by renovating and revitalizing an existing building into a thriving enterprise of which the community can be proud. The winner receives a plaque which is displayed in City Hall.
And they are taking nominations for the Outstanding Community Service Award, which goes to a person or group making a substantial contribution of time, work and philosophy into a project or program from which the entire community benefits.
Award recipients will be honored at the annual dinner.
Nomination deadline is Oct. 15.
Mail nominations to chamber@gisco.net or call 393-3620.
