POTSDAM – The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is organizing Fright Fest 2018 Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27.
The event will have haunted house walking tours, extended downtown shopping hours with participating stores, a bonfire, kid’s costume run and walk, costume contest, ragamuffin parade and more.
The tentative schedule so far includes:
• Friday, Oct. 26 -- 5-8 p.m. Late night shopping, haunted walking tours, and advertising haunted house events around town; 8 p.m. bonfire at Garner Park with the Fire Department and Village DPW;
• Saturday, Oct. 27 -- 8-10 a.m. costume run/walk with kids race (fundraiser for St. Lawrence County Community Development Program); 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Market Street closed off with vendors and activities (some vendors may be in Ives Park); 10 a.m.-noon Potsdam Rotary book giveaway; 10:30 a.m. story time with Potsdam Childrens' Librarian Rebecca Donnelly; 11 a.m. Ragamuffin Parade and fire truck runs (with Kiwanis and Fire Department); 1 p.m. costume contest; and 2 p.m. dance performances.
The chamber is charging a small involvement fee for participating businesses and street vendors: $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members.
