State Comptroller DiNapoli keynotes Forever Wired conference at Clarkson Sept. 8

POTSDAM -- More than 200 people will be on hand as New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli kicks off the first Forever Wired Conference hosted by Clarkson University next Tuesday, Sept 8.

Comptroller DiNapoli delivers the keynote address at a noontime networking lunch in the CAMP building atrium.

After lunch, panel discussions will follow in the Cheel Campus Center from 1:15 to 4:45 p.m.

The conference is presented by the Adirondack Initiative for Wired Work. Cochaired by Elmer Gates of Blue Mountain Lake, N.Y., and Clarkson President Tony Collins, the initiative is a team of regional leaders and energized professionals dedicated to revitalizing healthy economic growth in the Adirondacks through technology.

Topics include Investing in the New Economy; My Adirondack Business 101: what are the basic business concepts that will lead to my success?; Infrastructure in Support of Wired Working; and Wired Working as a Lifestyle. This will be capped off by a question booth panel as the final session.

By 2019, the goal of conference organizers is to add 2,019 corporate telecommuters, mobile workers, and working wired entrepreneurs to the region in support of green tech commerce and new economic opportunities that will grow the base of regional residents that sustain vital services for year-round residents and visitors to the region.
