HAMMOND -- The Economic Development Committee of Hammond is opting small business workshops April 1, 8 and 15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hammond Free Library, 17 North Main Street.
Business owners can learn basic e-commerce and how to create an online presence.
Participants are encouraged to bing a laptop computer in case the library computers aren't available. Pre-registration is required, call 386-7312. Classes are $5 each for members listed on www.visithammondny.com/businesses and are $10 for non-members.
• April 1 is "Get Your Business on the Map: Business Listing and Customer Review Sites." Learn how to have your listing come up in search engines, encourage customer reviews and be seen on mobile map applications.
• April 8 is "Facebook for Business." Learn how to set up, develop and manage a business page on the social networking site Facebook.
• April 15 is "Hands-On Workshop." This will give attendees of the previous workshops a chance to troubleshoot and ask questions after having time to try out their new skills. SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center staff will be on-hand.
