Dr. Michael J. Tulloch will begin seeing hospitalized CPH patients on May 16. “Hospitalists are medical professionals or advanced practice nursing professionals who have a background in internal medicine or family medicine,” CPH officials said in a prepared statement. “Hospitalists are sometimes referred to as ‘intensivists’ because of the higher level of medical care required by a hospitalization.”
To ensure care is coordinated, hospitalists consult regularly with other medical specialists and with the patient’s primary care practitioner, CPH said.
Tulloch addressed a letter to established patients of his medical practice in April notifying them of his decision to move to full-time hospitalist practice.
Those patients were referred to other area primary care practitioners, CPH said.
His former practice was at 6603 state Route 56.
Patients who wish to have their medical records transferred to a new primary care provider can go to CPH medical records on the second floor of the main hospital at 50 Leroy Street, or call a records representative at (315) 261-5274.
