Linda Scagel of Community Health Center of the North Country welcomes psychiatric nurse practitioner Kim Richards to the staff.
CANTON -- Community Health Center of the North Country has hired a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Kim Richards will be working in the health center’s mental health department at its St. Lawrence County and Franklin County sites.
Richards is accepting new patients and is available at the health center’s St. Lawrence County site at 4 Commerce Lane three days a week.
“Mrs. Richards has vast experience working with patients who have mental health and addiction issues. It is a pleasure to welcome her to our team,” said Director of Health and Clinical Services Linda Scagel.
Richards completed the psychiatric nurse practitioner program at SUNY Upstate Medical University, during which she worked at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center’s inpatient unit and St. Lawrence County Mental Health outpatient services. She earned a family nurse practitioner master of science degree at Stony Brook University, and a nursing bachelor of science from SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome. She also earned an associate of applied science degree in nursing at SUNY Canton, and attended the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES LPN nursing program.
