POTSDAM -- The Reh Center for Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University is partnering with the Potsdam Public Library to offer marketing classes for St. Lawrence County small businesses.

There will be three sessions: Unique Selling Propositions on April 8, Social Media Basics on April 15 and Getting the Most From Your Website on April 22. All sessions will be held in the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room from 6 to 8 p.m. They are free of charge but registration is required.

Marc Compeau, an instructor in Clarkson’s School of Business, will be teaching the Unique Selling Propositions class. Those who attend this session will leave with an established marketing message.

Brian Hayden, Clarkson’s social media manager, and Alicia Cabrera, a sophomore innovation and entrepreneurship major, will be teaching the Social Media Basics class. This session will focus on developing knowledge of social media to grow a business. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to maintain a social media presence for a business and how it can be used as a marketing strategy.

Jeff Yette, sales engineer at Slic Network Solutions, will teach Getting the Most From Your Website. This class will offer Web techniques such as using meta descriptions, key words, page titles and tags to increase search engine results and viewer usability.

These classes are first-come, first-served, with a limit of 25 per class.
