CANTON – The Stadium Sports Bar, owned by business partners Greg Furnia, James (Jim) Sanderson and Randy Bessette, will be honored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce as its 2018 Member of the Year.

The bar at 37 Main St. will be celebrated at the chamber’s annual dinner Thursday, Feb. 7, at Eben Holden on the St. Lawrence University Campus.

The dinner kicks off the Chamber’s 2019 Canton Winterfest.

The Stadium owners’ efforts at establishing its annual golf tournament to raise money for a child or young adult in need were the primary reasons for its nomination, the chamber said. The bar has also supported numerous other causes with various fundraisers since opening in 2016.

Also being honored is the Canton Community Fund organization which is receiving the annual Chamber Recognition Award. The Fund is being honored for its donations to local businesses and other organizations within the community.

The dinner starts with a social hour at 6 p.m. A buffet follows at 7 and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner are $40. Those wishing to attend should RSVP the chamber by Feb. 1 at Canton Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 369, Canton 13617.
