Barrett Paving worked on the OBPA taxiway repaving project last year.
NORWOOD -- Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. recently received a national award for Excellence in Asphalt Pavement for the Taxiway B & C Rehabilitation at Ogdensburg International Airport.
The award was presented to Barrett by the National Asphalt Pavement Association for high levels of quality both in the field and at the Norwood plant.
The plant processed approximately 9,500 tons of p401 blacktop mix for the runway project, meeting exacting testing, coring, and compaction standards, the judges noted.
“Meeting these standards greatly increases the life of the pavement” said Duane M. Rayburn, Project Superintendent for Barrett Paving.
“The reason the Taxiway Rehabilitation project turned out so well was the commitment made by Barrett Paving. Along with that dedication, it comes down to the personnel on their crew, striving day in and day out to do a good job.” Said Stephen J Lawrence, the Authority’s Director of Operations.
