Gary and Louise Jones celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 5, 2015. The party was given by the couple's children and their families at the Davis home located on the Orebed Road, Colton.

Louise and Gary both worked at Montgomery Wards where they met in 1965.

They wed on July 3, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in Colton. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Harold Beaudry.

Mary Jane Clohosey, Larry Jones, Alan Tessier, Keith Barrigar and Allen Jones were members of the wedding party.

Gary was employed at Bausch & Lomb in Rochester as a machinist at the time they were wed. He then worked at Alcoa & Corning before entering the bricklayer's union in 1969. He was Highway Superintendent for Town of Pierrepont from 1986 - 1990. He retired in 2008 from Corning as a mason supervisor. He also served in the Town of Pierrepont as a town councilman and planning board member for 16 years.

Louise worked at the Mastitis Lab in Canton, Ames Store in Canton, Carbino's in Potsdam, Ronnie's Market in Hannawa Falls, Sevey's Store in Colton, was a secretary for the Church of the Nazarene in Potsdam, and a clerk at Livingstone's Bookstore in Potsdam. Louise left the workforce in 2002.

Both have been members of the Church in the Nazarene in Potsdam for over 30 years where Gary has served as lay minister and Louise as organist.

Gary enjoys hunting and other outdoor activities. He continues to do masonry work as well.

Louise has been a seamstress in the past and enjoyed knitting, crocheting & gardening. She still enjoys playing cards, the piano on occasion and reading.

The couple has 3 children: Brenda Jones Bonno (husband - Leonard Bonno) - Glenmeal Road, Canton, Katherine Jones (companion - Pat Butler) - Judson Street, Canton, and John Jones (wife - Selina) - Elgin, South Carolina; 4 grandchildren: Eric Bonno & wife Charlene, Melinda Peck Chase & husband Richard, Ashley Bonno & fiancé John Cougler & Sherri Peck. Step-grandchildren: Addie Amos, Billy & Chris Hinson; and 3 greatgrand children: Addison & Makenna Chase, & Lillian (Lily) Bonno.

Gary and Louise are retired now and live the summer/fall in Colton, NY and spend the winter/spring in Hopkins, South Carolina.
