POTSDAM -- Seven students at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music were chosen to take part in a vocal masterclass led by Broadway and opera star Lisa Vroman '79 on April 18.
The vocalists included Mekayla Fountaine of Massena, NY.
The public masterclass was titled "Bel Canto-Can Belt-O!" and concentrated on the athleticism and grace (to name just two aspects of many) needed in all genres.
One singer from each Crane School of Music voice studio was chosen to perform and receive instruction in front of the audience.
Vroman, best known for her portrayal of Christine Daae in "The Phantom of the Opera," was recently awarded the 2024 Bistro Award in New York City.
