Curtis Morgan Castaldo, 30, formerly of Madrid

MADRID -- Curtis Morgan Castaldo, 30, of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away on March 13, 2024.

He was born on April 28, 1993, in Ogdensburg, NY.

Curtis was a commercial diver and welder at C-Dive in Louisiana.

He cherished the underwater world that many overlooked and formed strong bonds with his colleagues, who became like family to him.

Curtis is survived by his mother, Katherine Castaldo of Madrid, NY; brother, Nicholas Mills of Norwood; father, Raymond T. Castaldo of Leesburg, FL; sister, Jaime Henderson; brothers Raymond S. Castaldo of Manvel, TX, and Matthew Castaldo of Pinehurst, NC; maternal grandparents, Marian and Kermit Morgan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Curtis was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Cynthia and Louis Castaldo of Oswego, and an infant cousin, Katherine.

Curtis attended Madrid-Waddington Central School and Northwest Tech BOCES and later pursued further education at Ocean Corporation in Texas.

As a child and teen, he worshipped at the United Church of Madrid.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Church of Madrid on Saturday, May 18th, at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to fund a scholarship in support of a graduate of Northwest Technical Center in Ogdensburg, NY, or to the Madrid Fire Department.
